City of Mountain Park - Council Candidate
This fall, the citizens of Mountain Park will have the opportunity to vote to fill three city council seats. This election will be the most important in the city's history. This election may decide if Mountain Park continues to exist as a city. Because this election is so critical, 11 candidates are vying for these three seats. I am one of those candidates.
The most critical issue facing the new city council is whether to maintain the city's charter. As a city, we must consider whether Mountain Park can provide professional public safety services and infrastructure maintenance at a reasonable tax rate. If not, what are the alternatives? The city's ultimate path should be in the hands of voters, but only after a complete analysis of the benefits and consequences of dissolving or retaining the charter. A thorough, logical examination of the dissolution process may reveal a middle way that no one has yet imagined. If our citizens decide to keep the charter, then I will work assertively and creatively to ensure the city provides the best services and infrastructure the city can afford. If our citizens decide to dissolve the charter, I will fully support aggressively pursuing that goal as quickly as possible while maintaining a high level of public safety services.
I am running for the city council because I want to help lead the citizens and property owners to the best outcome possible during this critical decision-making period. I am qualified for this office because I have the vision and the management, listening, and leadership skills to help guide Mountain Park to the best decision for a safe and prosperous future. My most important qualification is my willingness to put those skills to work for you.
